How To Play
NO PAIN NO GAME
The Rules
Objective
No Pain No Game is a fast-paced fitness card game where every play gets someone moving.
Be the first player to play all of your cards by matching pairs. Use Action Cards strategically, and keep everyone guessing who has the Couch Potato.
The player holding the Couch Potato after all the workout cards have been played loses and must complete a special workout circuit.
Setup
- 3-5 players
- Shuffle the deck.
- Deal the entire deck evenly among all players.
- Keep your cards hidden from the other players.
- Anyone may start. Play continues clockwise.
Taking a Turn
1. Draw one random card from the player to your left.
2. If you have a matching pair, you may play one matching pair face up in the center of the table.
3. If you cannot make a pair, your turn ends.
Workout Pairs
Whenever a matching pair is played:
- The player who played the pair does not perform the workout.
- Every other player must complete one set of the exercise shown on the pair.
Deferred Workouts
Can't complete a workout immediately? You may defer it until later in the game.
Keep track of every workout you defer.
You cannot win until all of your deferred workouts have been completed.
Special Cards
Special Cards are identified by the ★ in the corner and may only be played after a workout pair has been placed.
💤 Rest Day
Skip one set of the current workout.
If a player has been assigned additional sets (such as from Feel the Burn), Rest Day only skips one of those sets.
Place the card in the center after use.
🔥 Feel the Burn
Give another player this card to make them sweat.
That player must complete one additional set of the current workout.
Multiple Feel the Burn cards may be played on the same workout and may be given to any player.
Place the card in the center after the extra set has been completed.
Winning
The first player to play all of the cards from their hand wins...provided they have completed all of their deferred workouts.
You must shout "No Pain" after playing your last pair. If you don't and someone calls you out on it, then you must do the final workout circuit with the couch potato.
Losing
The Couch Potato has no matching card, so it continues moving from player to player throughout the game.
The player left holding the Couch Potato after all the workout cards have been played loses the game and must complete the last three workouts in the center of the table.
